Connecting Services
Connecting service
between the station and nearby destinations will be provided in a
number of ways. Santa Fe
Trails, the City’s bus service, is currently looking into route and
schedule adjustments to get people to and from the stations.
As with Albuquerque’s service, large private employers and
destinations – for example the hospital and community college - will
be asked to help provide direct connections.
The Rail Runner train will also connect to New Mexico Park
and Ride buses and be integrated into north central New Mexico’s
public transportation network.
Additionally, bicycle
racks will be available at all stations and passengers are allowed
to bring bicycles on the train.
The evaluation of station location took into account current
and planned bicycle and pedestrian trail to make it easier for
people to bike and walk to and from the Rail Runner.
