NMRX Launches Passenger Text Alert System
Get Texts on Delayed Trains Sent Directly to Your Phone

- The New Mexico Rail Runner Express is launching a new passenger
text message alert system to inform riders of significant train
delays.
“This new texting system is really going to make
it easier for our regular Rail Runner riders to better gage their
time”, said Dewey
Cave, Interim Executive
Director, Mid-Region Council of Governments. “We want to make the
experience of commuting by rail as seamless as possible for those
who rely on public transportation. This is another way to keep our
passengers informed with the most up-to-date information.”
How to Receive Text Message Alerts from the NM
Rail Runner Express
To begin receiving text message alerts about
train delays from the New Mexico Rail Runner Express, you must first
log onto:
www.nmrailrunner.com and click on the “Text Alert” tab to
sign up for the service. You will also be given the option of
deciding for which trains you would like to receive text messages.
Only sign up for the trains you wish to receive text messages

Your internet service provider
or pager/cellular carrier may charge a “per-message” fee. It is
strongly recommended that you contact your service provider
BEFORE subscribing to Text Alerts.

You may cancel your
subscription at anytime by replying STOP to any text message you
receive.

You will only be notified about
delays that are 10-minutes or longer. Delays are
considered approximate. Trains can make up time in route,
so please arrive at stations several minutes before the new
estimated departure.

During times of significant
delays or cancelations, you may receive a recorded phone call
with more specific information about the delay.

Your phone number will not be
shared with any other parties. You will only receive
information about delayed trains.

Text messages will only be sent
during the Customer Service operating hours. Monday-Friday
6 a.m. - 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 8
p.m.
