Rail Runner teams up
with RoadRunner to make the Holidays happier for those less
fortunate.
(Albuquerque, NM - November 21 2007)
– For the second year in a row, the New Mexico Rail Runner Express
will be hosting a food drive in conjunction with the RoadRunner Food
Bank of New Mexico this holiday season. There will be collection
barrels on each Rail Runner train beginning Monday, November 26th.
“This is a great way for Rail Runner passengers to
reach out to those in need this holiday season,” says Lawrence
Rael, Executive Director of the Mid-Region Council of
Governments. “Many of the thousands of New Mexicans who are at
risk of going hungry during these cold winter months are
children. RoadRunner Food Bank has a network of almost 700
agencies statewide that help feed approximately 240 thousand New
Mexicans each year.”
Rail Runner passengers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable
food donation on the train.
