New Mexico Rail Runner Express once again offers Special Weekend Service to Balloon Fiesta (Albuquerque, NM - September 19, 2007)- For the second year in a row, visitors to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will have another alternative available to get them to the colorful annual event. The New Mexico Rail Runner Express will be offering special service for the popular opening and closing weekends of Fiesta. People can ride the train to the Los Ranchos/Journal Center station, where they can hop on a shuttle bus that will take them right onto Balloon Fiesta field. See the Balloon Fiesta 2007 Rail Runner Schedule (PDF) “Rail Runner service to Balloon Fiesta was such a success last year that a lot of people have been asking whether we were going to run it again for this year’s fiesta”, says Lawrence Rael, Executive Director for the Mid-Region Council of Governments. “When you think of how many thousands attend Balloon Fiesta each year, we’re just happy that we can provide a service that helps fiesta-goers avoid the hassle of traffic and parking, and also experience the comfort and convenience that the Rail Runner offers.” Rail Runner / Park and Ride / Balloon Fiesta Pass Starting September 25, you can purchase a Rail Runner / Park and Ride / Balloon Fiesta Admission pass on-line here on the Balloon Fiesta Website. These multi-passes are not available for purchase at Rail Runner stations or from the Rail Runner website. Rail Runner ONLY Pass Those wishing to ride the Rail Runner on Balloon Fiesta weekends, but not attend the Fiesta, can purchase a $2 day pass just to ride the train on October 6th, 7th, 13th, and 14th.
