Major Road Closures Expected in
Santa Fe
St. Michael's Drive and Intersection of Cerrillos Road
and St. Francis Drive Impacted
Santa
Fe
– Contractors will be reconstructing track on St. Michael’s Drive
and at the intersection of
Cerrillos Road
and St. Francis Drive
beginning next week.
“No one enjoys sitting in traffic, however
these closures are necessary to produce the highest quality
crossings that will serve the City of
Santa Fe for decades without the need for
additional maintenance,” said Transportation Secretary Rhonda
Faught. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation through
this high construction time, and know that it will all pay off in
the next four months when the Rail Runner begins running to Santa Fe.”
Beginning Sunday, September 14, St. Michael’s
Drive will experience a full nighttime closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
daily through Thursday morning. During the closures, local traffic
will be rerouted south to Fifth Street coming
from the west and Calle Lorca coming from the east, and north using
Calle Lorca or Espincitas from the west.
In addition, the intersection of Cerrillos Road and St. Francis Drive will be partially closed
at nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, September 22
through Monday, September 29 for track reconstruction. Street plates
will be used to open up for traffic each day. Traffic will be
detoured via Cordova Road, Guadalupe Street and Paseo de Peralta.
Message boards and detours will be posted
throughout these closures. All information will be posted online at
www.nmroads.com. Detour maps
have been attached.
