Location: NM Highway 314 and Courthouse Road
(101 Court House Road in Los Lunas)
Now Open
The Los Lunas Rail Runner station, located at the site of the Los Lunas Transportation Center, is close to residential areas, as well as Valencia County administration offices and the judiciary complex. If you’re feeling energetic, historic Main Street is but a 15-minute walk from the station. Once there, you’ll discover the local flare and flavor of the
Village. Whether it’s authentic Mexican cuisine you’re craving, or simply good conversation with the locals – you can find it in the heart of Los Lunas.
The Los Lunas station offers free parking. The parking lot, with approximately
190 spaces, is located to the east of the station along Village Drive, just south of Courthouse Road.
Station Area
Development
The Los Lunas Rail Runner Express Station
Area Plan aims to attract development and create a vibrant
focal point of housing and retail for this city of 14,000
people. Officially adopted back in May, 2008, the plan will
help create a dense, two- to three-story “center” for the
village that encourages activity throughout the day and a
mix of commercial and residential land use that protects and
enhances the character of existing neighborhoods.
To set the stage for this new vision, the
Village has adopted new zoning in the station area, is
undertaking $2.4 million in pedestrian and bicycle facility
improvements, and plans streetscape improvements on N.M. 314
to create a safe and comfortable pedestrian experience.

| As reflected in its station icon, the Los Lunas area boasts a long history with train travel. It bears the image of the old Los Lunas train station, constructed by the Santa Fe Railroad at the turn of the last century. That very station still stands as a landmark in the community today. |
