Purchasing a New Mexico Rail Runner Express train ticket is easy and convenient. Fares are calculated based upon your individual or group travel needs.

Convenient Ways To Pay for Your Ticket 

Passengers can purchase their ticket online or onboard the train.

New Mexico Rail Runner Express Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tickets are not refundable if lost, damaged, stolen or destroyed. Tickets are also not refundable if the passenger purchased a ticket and didn’t use it, purchased the wrong date or wrong station or if a ticket is purchased at a discounted rate without qualification.

  • Seating is available on a first come - first served basis.
  • Purchasing a ticket in advance online does not guarantee a seat.
  • Children 9 and under ride for FREE.

1-yellow-border Valid Date

Be sure to select the date you want to travel. For monthly or annual passes, select the day you want your pass to begin.

2-yellow-border Origination

Select the station where you will start your trip.

3-yellow-border Destination

Select the station where you will end your trip.

4-yellow-border Ticket Type

Choose your ticket type. The letter "D" stands for Discount. Find out if you can travel for discounted fare. If you qualify for a discount, be sure to use the drop-down menu to get the reduced fare. Children under 10 ride FREE. For example, if you qualify for a senior discount and you want a day pass, choose "D-day pass". Proof of eligibility for the discount will be required when you get on the train.

5-yellow-border Name

Type in the first and last name of the passenger. This will be printed on the ticket.

6-yellow-border Add Ticket

Click the "Add Ticket" button.

7-yellow-border Additional Passengers

Type in the first and last name of any additional passengers and click "Add Ticket" each time.

8-yellow-border Payment

Enter your credit card information. Use only numbers - no spaces and no dashes. We accept all major credit cards, except American Express.

9-yellow-border Process

Click the "Process" button.

1-yellow-border0-yellow-border Print

Be sure your printer is set up to your computer properly and print your ticket. You can show this to the ticket agent on the train.

1-yellow-border Board Your Train

After consulting a schedule, simply go to the New Mexico Rail Runner Express station and get on the appropriate train.

2-yellow-border Pay Your Fare

After the train starts moving, a ticket agent in a yellow vest will come by and collect fares. You can pay with cash or credit card. Tickets are cheaper if you purchase them in advance on our website.
