Dispatcher -NM Rail Runner Express

The Mid-Region Council of Governments is accepting resumes for the positions of Full-time Dispatcher.  The Dispatcher will be responsible for providing the safe efficient movement of trains over the entire New Mexico Rail Runner territory. The Dispatcher’s duties include but are not limited to: scheduling the movement of trains; provide for safe meets and passes; managing unexpected events and emergency situations, to protect the public, railroad employees and railroad property, arranging for the use of track engineering forces to permit timely maintenance while minimizing train delays and providing protection for such operation, and maintaining accurate records of train movement and maintenance activities.  Candidates must have knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration regulations, procedures and policies, and experience with the General Code of Operating rules for Railroad HAZMAT, equipment, train crews, and on-time performance.  Qualifications include a minimum of two (2) years experience as a qualified train dispatcher.  Must be qualified and demonstrate a practical understanding of the GCOR and all supplemental instruction.  In addition, applicants must have a minimum of (2) years experience with the computer aided dispatch systems or radio control devices, MS Office, including Word and Excel.  Salary DOQ.  Employment pending successful background check, clean driving record, and valid New Mexico Drivers License.
